Subject: Bullying
I appreciate the program dedicating an episode to the subject of bullying. We don’t hear enough about this issue from a Christian perspective.
One aspect that Father Olson touched on and I’d like to address further is how anti-gay bullying in particular should be handled without the schools themselves going too far in reacting to the offenders. I have come to the conclusion that some people on the left are, though well-meaning, actually exacerbating the problem. Allow me to explain.
We should be presenting a united front in telling young people that bullying for any reason is not acceptable. Instead, many liberals are causing division on this important issue by pushing things too far. They want to teach children that not only is picking on gay kids wrong, there’s also nothing wrong with homosexuality. Christian parents rightly fight back against this attempt to use the schools to circumvent biblical teaching on the subject. This clash undoubtedly leads to confusion among young people as to whether or not there’s anything wrong with bullying gays.
If pro-homosexual forces would stop their attempts at indoctrination, we could all unite in opposition to bullying of any kind, against anyone. Christian parents could make it clear to their kids: “Regardless of what we believe about homosexuality, you have absolutely no right to torment gay people or anybody else.” They could say that now, but the message is undercut when the children see all of the arguing about this matter, arguing that has been brought on by the insistence that we all approve of homosexual behavior.
Let’s all agree that bullying is wrong and unacceptable. And let’s leave out the brainwashing.

Gun control, I couldn’t believe what I was hearing from you people. Jesus promoted people protecting themselves ( Luke 22:35-36, Matt 12:29).
Gun control laws disarm the lawabiding citizen. Cities that have the strictest gun control laws have the highest crime rates. Mexico has some of the strictest gun laws in the world and the criminals have the military outgunned.

I was raised in a home where a loaded rifle always stood propped against the kitchen door jam. My Father always said, “When I need a gun, I haven’t got time to look for one.” My sister and I knew what would happen in the woodshed if we touched it. Neither of us had to make the trip to the woodshed.
In a gun free zone there is no one to shoot back. Guns don’t kill. It is the one who pulls the trigger.

Subject: Whether pastors who fall should be forgiven and reinstated
Suppose I were a pastor at one of the denominations that are ordaining homosexuals. Now, let’s imagine I, a heterosexual, committed adultery and was found out. Church leaders approach me to express their deep disappointment and tell me my behavior is unacceptable; I must be held accountable and be disciplined. I might respond, “Who are you kidding? You threw out the sexual rulebook when you started allowing active, out-of-the-closet gay people to run churches. These people are in open defiance of God’s laws, and you don’t seem to have a problem with that. What I’m doing isn’t any worse than what they flaunt in front of everyone, and you want to single me out? I don’t think so.”
Honestly, what could those church leaders say in response? They did, after all, establish a precedent that a sinful sexual behavior is no barrier to being made the head of a congregation. How can they enforce these matters selectively?
I am all for many of the measures advocated by the panelists with regard to clergy misconduct. The problem is, such disciplinary action will not be respected or effective if it is done on an inconsistent basis. If a church willingly allows some of its clergy to lead a life of unrepentant sin, it has lost its moral authority to do anything about any of it.

I think I am correct in my observation that not one of the religious leaders broached the idea of what behavior would glorify God. Is that not the chief end of man–to glorify God and enjoy Him forever? Pastor Lane is a man (I believe) who often gives glory to God in his responses to the quetions asked. I also enjoy the Rabi and the Priest although I don’t feel that their theology agrees with the Bible.

I would like to make two points. First, why would a college allow this? It is a monetary issue…colleges are most likely loath to lose the remuneration exacted for room and board. When I attended Syracuse University back in the 1970’s, the school actually built an apartment complex where coed habitation was allowed, thus keeping the monies “in house”.
The second point is that this policy could be disastrous because of [the emotional distractions, expectations and misunderstandings]…As tense situations arise, the students will swap out rooms. This could become a real concern if a medical emergency should arise.

As Americans we have had enough problems of our own in the way we have treated certain groups of people (American Indians, African Americans, Jewish people, etc.) in the past. We still have problems with a number of hate groups and lawless characters that are involved in drug traffic and violence. Subject: Slaughter of the priests of Baal
Your discussion about whether or not God sanctioned the slaughter of the priests of Baal was top notch…My sympathies go out to your panelists who many times just get started when it is “time to move on”…The Children of Israel were to not leave anyone alive of the pagans, not man, woman, child, or animal. God commanded them to kill everything to cleanse the land before them. Why? Because He knew that in time what would happen would be exactly what Elijah faced…The subtle seduction of the gods created by man is very powerful…God does not ask us to just go along with the flow. He asks us to climb out of the boat and join him on the surface of the water.
It was stated by Rev. Canon Peterson that God would not enter human history or else he would be accountable for it, thus removing the free will of Mankind. How then would it be possible to ever in any way know the will of God? John 3:16 tells us, “For God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son…”. Pastor Gifford, I know God works within human history, because He has come into my evil heart to save me from my sins and turn me toward a better life…I believe it was Dr. Lane who correctly said that God is sovereign. God rules the Universe. If He does not enter human events, why would He have whispered my name before the worlds were formed?
I do so enjoy your program. It makes me think, and thinking is good. Sometimes it challenges me to see things from a different perspective. Sometimes I shout at your panelists. I hope you will excuse this behavior. However, I sometimes get the feeling that they would like to shout at each other.

Here we are merely days away from Good Friday, when God allowed His Beloved Son to die in a horribly violent way, forgiving His enemies before He would Himself use voilence back against them…Yes, God brought a wonderful miraculous end to His Son’s death; He uses evil for good (as the Methodist-Episcopal gentleman said about the results of the Civil War). This is another aspect of His awesome Nature.
But Jesus is the Living Embodiment of WHO GOD IS…and not one of the religious leaders on this particular program ever called His Holy Name. How sad this made me today.
Why do even those who claim to be His most devout friends and followers ignore His urgent messages to us? As Mahatma Gandhi once was said to very profoundly observe, “If I could meet just one Christian who seemed to really know Jesus and truly live out His message, I would become a Christian myself”.

My father was sick with yellow fever when he was 15. He did not want medical treatment because he said he was depending on Jesus to heal him. Father tried to fight them off but finally the doctor gave him the necessary medicine while my grandfather held him down. It took over a year for my father to forgive his father for doing that, but when he was 18 and heading off to fight in WWII he thanked them for having done it.
My father came to the conclusion that it was the Lord who provides doctors with knowledge and the appropriate medicines. Since God has provided cures, it is wrong to refuse them. I believe in Jesus 110% but you should not test the Lord when the cure He has already provided is right next to you.
All children should be taken care of, even if the parents do not consent. I thank the Lord every day that my grandfather stepped to save my father’s life. I would not be here if he had not.

Today I found your web site and watched the episode on the Ground Zero mosque. The imam from Dallas seems like a nice fellow, but I was surprised that not one of the esteemed clergymen brought up the questions:
Why are synagogues and churches outlawed in the hotbed of Islam–Saudi Arabia? Why are Bibles and Christian literature confiscated at the airport when entering Egypt?
It’s nice that this imam has lived in the US for 23 years, and enjoys all the freedoms and liberties America affords, but what does he have to say about the slaughter of Christians and Jews at the hands of Muslims in the Middle East? In Muslim-dominated countries like Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, and Egypt, the murder of Christians and the unspeakable horrors perpetrated against their own women and children is not uncommon.
Would he say that all these heinous acts are from extremists, or are these perpetrators merely living out the dictates of their holy books, and following the example of Muhhamed? Besides the truly innocent, enslaved women and children, how many truly moderate Muslim men does this imam know?
Muslims aren’t the problem. Islam is.

Subject: Fallen man and Scripture
I usually turn on the TV at 5:30 AM on Sunday morning to watch Pastors and Theologians make fools of themselves on the debating program
Today’s subject was Homosexuality and Gay Marriage. I was rather surprised that the responses of these leading lights in American religion were antiscriptural for the most part and were supportive of homosexuals and their state and federal law defined “rights”. Only one Pastor defended the Bibles prohibition–totally without scriptural references. Scripture is either ignored or considered not applicable to our modern, “enlightened” church culture. It is of little wonder that the American church has become indistinguishable from the secular.
For the scripturally illiterate theologians, here is what the Bible says:
1. The Torah Law of YHWH God, the Almighty, says: (Lev 20:13) If a man goes to bed with a man as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they must be put to death; their blood is on them.
2. The New Testament of Yeshua/Jesus, the Messiah says: (Rom 1:26) This is why God has given them up to degrading passions; so that their women exchange natural sexual relations for unnatural;(Rom 1:27) and likewise the men, giving up natural relations with the opposite sex, burn with passion for one another, men committing shameful acts with other men and receiving in their own persons the penalty appropriate to their perversion. (Rom 1:28) In other words, since they have not considered God worth knowing, God has given them up to worthless ways of thinking, so that they do improper things. (Rom 1:29) They are filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and vice; stuffed with jealousy, murder, quarrelling, dishonesty and ill will; they are gossips, (Rom 1:30) slanderers, haters of God; they are insolent, arrogant and boastful; they plan evil schemes; they disobey their parents; (Rom 1:31) they are brainless, faithless, heartless and ruthless. (Rom 1:32) They know well enough God’s righteous decree that people who do such things deserve to die; yet not only do they keep doing them, but also they applaud others who do the same.

God gave us a mind to reason with and, certainly, a heart to temper that reasoning with compassion. We must take care of those in whatever need. Having said that, homosexuality is an abomination. (Rom 1:7). We are told “Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves…shall inherit the kingdom of God” (I Cor 6:9-11)
Paul also said in verse 11 that, “such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God” I take that to mean that people can and must change.
How much do we have to water down the Word of God? I believe I must pray for them to change and love them as human beings, but hate what they do.
When I was in grade school in 1953 Hank Williams died. During class that morning our principal came over the loudspeaker and said a prayer for Hank Williams and his family and closed it “in Jesus Name”. Try that now. We now have “civil rights”, “Separation of church and state” and “women’s rights”. We have taken prayer out of schools and make it a shame to be a white man. We have even made it legal to murder millions of unborn babies.
I am a southern, white, heterosexual, gun owning Christian viewer. I was raised a Methodist, tried to be a Baptist, joined the Klan and then I just went home.

Subject: Gay Marriage
This morning we witnessed another discussion of an important issue. However, it was a dismal failure. One clergyman made a true and significant statement when he stated that the historical events written in Scripture reported what happened in those days due to man’s fallen nature. He also pointed out that there were very negative consequences following these actions. He is quite accurate in these statements, and these accounts are there in scripture for our instruction.
Scripture tells us that “the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom”. We are explicitly instructed to separate ourselves from the world (Rev 18:4). If we believe like the world and act like the world, of what value can we be to a dying world in need of salvation? God does not change and we will be judged by His Word, not by the opinions of fallen men.
If one has the “right” to live life as they see fit and not by the absolutes put forth in Scripture, then people who are inclined to steal from others should not be punished because it is simply their “unique” nature to do so. Never mind the commandment that “Thou shalt not steal”.
God is not impressed with the societal changes, the biases of mankind or any other reason we might try to argue against keeping obedience to HIS truth. Go back to the word of God, read, believe teach and live what it says.

I did not hear any mention of Jesus role in salvation though it might have been mentioned. I hope so but in any event it should have been because the Bible clearly points out that without faith in the blood of Jesus there would be no other way to heaven. I am trying to get a DVD of that program so I can carefully listen to the panelist’s comments. Faith in Jesus is the only way to salvation and I believe that the Word of God is the instruction book and guide for life. “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path” Psalms 119:105
From early childhood we are subtlety affected by our circumstances and surroundings and from life events….It is critical to be aware of how these things affect me and I need reliable guidance as life unfolds. Clearly that guidance should come from the Bible or I will unknowingly “evolve” into some kind of random creature with no direction. The Bible presents Gods instruction on all matters of living and thinking and He offers His Holy Spirit to enable us to understand and implement His instructions for conducting our lives.

It is evident, from listening to these discussions, that most if not all your members are quite liberal in their views…I see ANY incursion of Islam or Muslims in this country as dangerous in light of the expressed opinions and beliefs of the Muslims themselves…
We were truly hurt, bewildered, confused and upset to hear the panelists say how wrong they thought it was to countenance the burning of the Koran…Anyone who subscribes to, defends or condones Yahweh God’s truth in these hellish societies is persecuted, often to death.
Islam intends to dominate the world by open warfare, bloody conquest, by infiltration and takeover of other cultures until their numbers are sufficient for them to impose their will on the people. They openly state that they are actively working to establish “Sharia” and a “Caliphate” for the entire globe. They also employ “Taqiyya” which means lying to the enemy of Islam in order to conquer by deception. Perhaps none of you remembers their celebration after September 11, 2001. The Muslim religion is not peaceful.
If anyone is aware of this, and sits still to allow it to take place in their own country, they are guilty of treason against their country, and even more importantly, against Almighty God Himself.
It is sad that so called “men of God” have been so deceived or complicit with the enemy as to subject your audience to such ungodly behavior. Listeners who respect the panelist as leaders of the faith of Yeshua (Jesus) Messiah, could be influenced by your words to their detriment. This is a time for clergy to go to warfare in prayer against such actions; not to try to become friendly with the enemy who is bent on our destruction.
Men of God confront evil, they do not come into compromise with every evil under the sun in a futile attempt to bring “understanding”.
