A Retirement Community Offering Quality of Life in a Peaceful Setting
About us...
The American Religious Town Hall Meeting, Inc. is a nationally recognized non-profit corporation headquartered in Dallas, TX. Founded in 1952 as a cooperative venture between Catholic, Protestant, and Jewish religious leaders, the organization sponsors a nationally-broadcast television program that offers discussion and exploration of differing religious and socio-moral viewpoints. The corporation has expanded its services to offer excellent health care and secure retirement living to those who seek a high level of service, and want to live in a facility that has excellent standards of operation.
The Estates on Lake Granbury is an important part of this nationwide program. The concept of human understanding and cooperation between people of various persuasions makes The Estates on Lake Granbury a place where men and women feel welcome regardless of race, creed, color, national origin, or religion. Our purpose is to provide at a reasonable cost, a fulfilling quality of life with the greatest level of independence possible for each resident in an attractive, safe, and comfortable surrounding.
First Impressions
Often the first impression is remembered best. Looking across the beautiful waters of Lake Granbury, from the picturesque downtown square area or driving down Highway 377 and gazing down on the rolling shoreline, one will see the towering skyline of the beautiful Victorian structure known as The Estates on Lake Granbury.
The Estates is a retirement complex consisting of 83 apartments in the main building, + 17 cottages, nestled on the east shore of Lake Granbury. The picturesque setting continues from the Estates property across the serene lake waters to the skyline of the quaint city of Granbury.
Apartments Our apartments consist of mini-suites, one bedroom, two bedroom, and deluxe two-bedroom suites. All units have been carefully planned to give ample living space to accommodate luxurious, comfortable living.
Cottages Located to the north of the main building are 17 cottages – 8 duplexes, and 1 stand-alone cottage. The cottages, beautifully designed and decorated, are 2 bedroom, 2 bath, with a full kitchen. Cottage residents have access to the dining service provided the main building residents, but are not obligated to use dining services. All programs and activities are available for cottage residents, who find this type living a great transition between owning one’s own residence with full responsibility for all maintenance and upkeep and lawncare that entails, and living in an apartment in a large building with literally everything provided, including food and housekeeping. Cottage residents take care of themselves – except they don’t have to worry about maintenance or lawn care – and at the same time, they can use any of the facilities, privileges, and services provided the main building occupants.
DiningWe have a full-service dining room that provides comfortable dining accommodations and delicious, nutritionally balanced meals. Our full-time chef directs a competent staff that endeavors to accommodate most diets, from regular meals to vegetarian to other special-need diets.
Entertainment & Social Activities When you enter the main building, a beautiful three-story open air atrium provides the ideal setting for visiting with friends and family, or listening to a concert or other programming that is regularly provided. Our excellent Activities Department hosts many programs, from bingo to card games to dominos to puzzle building – the list goes on and on. We have a movie theatre, where feature-length films are regularly shown on a screen that is “as big as life.” Regular trips to the store and to cultural opportunities in other towns are made available. There are so many things to do at The Estates that you will have trouble deciding which option to choose.
Beauty & Barber Shop A full-service beauty and barber shop is available on premises. Pedicures and manicures can be obtained by qualified and certified staff. This is an independent operation, leased to a beauty shop operator who is responsible for all services provided within her shop.
Exercise A fully equipped exercise room is available so you can maintain a high level of physical fitness, good weather or bad.
Relaxation. Libraries on the 2nd and 3rd floors provide a place to read and relax or to just enjoy the view of Lake Granbury.
Chapel.A non-denominational chapel is located on the 3rd floor, and regular services are provided on Sunday. Chaplain Don Case is our chaplain, and is available to all residents for counseling or help on any problems the resident wants to discuss.
